Gov. Greg Abbott is currently deciding whether to sign or veto a bill that would ban THC products in Texas. The bill, known as Senate Bill 3, passed both the Texas House and Senate.
While Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick is actively pushing for the ban, Governor Abbott has not yet publicly indicated whether he supports it or not.. When asked about the bill, he said it was one of many on his desk and needed careful consideration. He has until June 22nd to make a decision.
A unique loophole was opened by the Cannabis industry ( The cannabis industry is composed of legal cultivators and producers, consumers, independent industrial standards bodies, ancillary products and services, regulators and researchers concerning cannabis and its industrial derivative, hemp.) to produce a synthetic cannabis, very potent with Delta 8 and 10 and in within three years, distributed it to over 8000-9000 smoke & vape shops near schools.
Abbott says “The New Pot” is said to be 8-9 times stronger than popular brands and packaged in cute colors that is geared more towards children and aledges that children are in danger of this allowance.
He also says that this many stores can not be regulated, and why not? Why can’t laws be curtailed to include THC without ALL the drama? Abbott also argues that these shops are being opened by schools. Why IS THIS allowed to begin with?
Sounds more to me like a city management problem than a law problem.
